Barefoot Beach is a guard gated community of about 620 homes on the south end of Little Hickory Island, between Bonita Beach and the Barefoot Beach Preserve, with Gulf front homes, beachfront condominiums, bayfront neighborhoods and a private, member owned beach club.
Barefoot Beach sits on the southern end of Little Hickory Island, between public Bonita Beach and the Barefoot Beach Preserve, a Collier County park. The mailing address is Bonita Springs (ZIP 34134), but the community is in unincorporated Collier County. Barefoot Beach Boulevard runs through the community from the staffed gate, and the Barefoot Beach Master Association maintains the gate and the boulevard.
County records show about 620 homes, most built from the late 1980s through the 1990s. They include Gulf front single family homes along the boulevard and its side lanes, the 348 condominium residences of Barefoot Beach Club I to IV, the 50 Villas on Barefoot Beach, the 15 Cottages at Barefoot, and the bayfront single family neighborhoods of Southport on the Bay and Bayfront Gardens, which have their own gates. Each neighborhood has its own association under the master association, and many bayfront homes have private docks.
The Club at Barefoot Beach is a private, member owned beach club right on the Gulf. It offers a full service private beach with lounge chairs, umbrellas and food and beverage service, a zero entry pool with lap lanes, two clay tennis courts, casual dining at the Turtle's Nest, fine dining in the Shell Dining Room and Sunset Terrace, and the Osprey Cove ice cream and coffee shop. Membership is by application and capped at 425; as of June 1, 2026 the club is temporarily not accepting waitlist applications. There is no golf course.
