Pelican Marsh

Pelican Marsh is a guard-gated North Naples community of about 1,900 homes in 26 named neighborhoods, between US 41 and Airport-Pulling Road. Every owner belongs to the Foundation of Pelican Marsh and its Community Center; the private, member-owned Pelican Marsh Golf Club is optional.

Pelican Marsh is a guard-gated community in North Naples, between US 41 and Airport-Pulling Road just north of Vanderbilt Beach Road, about a mile and a half from the Gulf beaches. WCI Communities broke ground in 1993. It has 26 named neighborhoods of condominiums, coach homes, villas and single-family homes, set among lakes and 133 acres of nature preserve along the Cocohatchee Strand.

**The Foundation.** Every owner is a member of the Foundation of Pelican Marsh, the master association. Its Community Center has 8 lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, 6 lighted pickleball courts with a court sports pro shop, 3 lighted bocce courts, a fitness center with trainers and classes, spa services, a library and computer room, banquet and meeting rooms and a full social calendar. Bulk Comcast cable and internet is included in the Foundation assessment.

**Golf.** Pelican Marsh Golf Club is a private, member-owned club, separate from the Foundation, and membership is optional. Residency is not required to join. The par-72 Robert von Hagge course plays to 7,050 yards from seven sets of tees, is an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and has a ten-acre practice facility and Learning Center. The two-story clubhouse has the Grille Room and Grille Terrace. The club offers Golf, Social and Dining memberships, and golf has a wait list. Bay Colony Golf Club, a different private club, also sits inside the Pelican Marsh gates.

**Costs.** Owners pay the Foundation assessment, a neighborhood association fee in most neighborhoods and a Pelican Marsh Community Development District assessment on the tax bill. The CDD runs the gatehouses, roving patrol, landscaping, lakes and streetlights. Most neighborhoods allow up to three leases a year with a 30-day minimum, and some allow only one.
