The Place at Corkscrew is a gated neighborhood of 1,325 single family homes on Corkscrew Road in Estero, built by Lennar and Pulte from 2017 to 2023 around a large resort style amenity center, with no golf course.
The Place at Corkscrew sits on Corkscrew Road about eight miles east of Interstate 75 in the Village of Estero. Cameratta Companies developed the 1,361 acre community on former farmland and set aside more than 750 acres as restored wetlands and preserve. Lennar and Pulte built its 1,325 single family homes between 2017 and 2023 on homesites 52, 62 and 75 feet wide, and it is now built out, with resale homes only.
The amenity center was named best clubhouse by the Lee Building Industry Association in 2019. It has a resort style pool with beach entries, a spa, rock waterfalls, cabanas, a fire pit, a 100 foot waterslide and a splash pad; a fitness center with a movement studio, a massage room and a conference room; the Barefoot restaurant and bar, the Bourbon Bar and a private party room; and a café and marketplace with coffee, smoothies and ice cream. Outdoors there are Har Tru tennis courts with a tennis pro shop, pickleball and bocce courts, basketball, beach volleyball, a flex field, a pavilion, a playground and a dog park. There is no golf course, beach club or marina.
The Place Master Association has been run by an owner elected board since the developer turned it over in 2022, and it bills quarterly. Association fees run about $495 a month (2026), with about $3,500 in one time fees at closing. Homes are also in the Corkscrew Farms Community Development District, which for FY2027 charges $121.58 a home for operations plus bond debt service, about $1,185 to $1,717 a year in total on the Lee County tax bill. Both entrances have staffed gatehouses.
